State-of-the-art medical imaging – including MRI, CT, ultrasound and mammography services – are now available on the southern Gold Coast following the opening of a new Queensland X-Ray practice at Airport Central.
Queensland X-Ray has taken out a long-term lease in part of the newly refurbished Airport Central building fronting the Gold Coast Highway and Terminal Drive, officially opening the practice on July 31.
The new practice will be overseen by Managing Radiologist, Dr Mark Keen, and offer bulkbilled imaging services.
Queensland X-Ray General Manager Peter Davis said the new Airport Central practice – the company’s fourth outlet on the Gold Coast – was part of one of the largest and longest standing private radiology businesses in Australia.
“Together with our existing Gold Coast Private, Southport and Hope Island practices we are able to provide our patients and referring doctors with the highest quality comprehensive imaging service across the entire Gold Coast and northern New South Wales regions,” he said.
“Radiologists oversee the local management of each of our 45-plus practices across Queensland, ensuring a personalised, thoughtful, caring and highly specialised service is delivered every time.”
Queensland Airports Limited Executive General Manager Property and Infrastructure Carl Bruhn said the new Queensland X-Ray practice was ideally located at Airport Central.
“This new practice is ideally located between two major hospitals – John Flynn Private Hospital to the north and Tweed Heads Public Hospital to the south,” he said.
“We are confident the services will be of real benefit to the southern Gold Coast and Tweed communities. Already we have heard rave reviews about the services and facilities on offer at the new clinic.”
Backed by Sonic Healthcare, an ASX top-40 listed company, Queensland X-Ray has installed the latest state-of-the-art technology and equipment at the new practice, including MRI, CT, ultrasound and mammography to ensure the best patient care, with systems and processes in place to protect the privacy of patients at all times.
Dr Mark Keen, who has been with the company since 2005, said the services were affordable.
“To ensure the local community can affordably utilise our services we have committed to bulk billing virtually all Medicare-rebateable studies,” he said.
A key tenant of Gold Coast Airport’s growing commercial precinct, Queensland X-Ray has taken a long-term lease at Airport Central, with options for more than 550sq m of ground floor fronting Gold Coast Highway.
The building is owned and managed by Queensland Airports Limited (QAL), operator of Gold Coast Airport.
Queensland X-Ray joins a diverse commercial mix of businesses at Airport Central, including Edge Early Learning, InTechnology Distribution, Volcom, and Freedom Fuel.
Airport Central is also occupied by Queensland Airports Limited and Gold Coast Airport’s management offices, and sits on 1.78ha, with more than 230 carparks.
Limited office and retail space remains available at Airport Central.
Gold Coast Airport – the gateway to the Gold Coast and Northern NSW – is on the move. The airport’s property strategy will activate the precinct and associated sites, developing the area into a thriving and diverse economic hub in the next 20 years.
