This year’s Gold Coast Airport Marathon marks Gold Coast Airport’s 12th year as naming rights sponsor and it’s also the 12th year airport staff have taken part in the Corporate Team Challenge.
This year over 50 staff an family members have entered the team, with one department in particular embracing the challenge.

Gold Coast Airport suffered a loss of power to the terminal, car parks, Airport Central building and Southern Cross University at approximately 4pm Sunday 16 March.

One of Gold Coast Airport’s leading consultative groups hopes changes to its membership will allow it to become a more effective community forum.
Gold Coast Airport Community Aviation Consultation Group (CACG) independent chairman, Air Marshal Les Fisher AO (Retd), tonight announced the forum had become unrepresentative and needed to be reformed and revitalised.

This month marks six years since AirAsia X (AAX) commenced services to Australia, with Gold Coast Airport as its first Australian port. The anniversary also coincides with an increase in services from five to seven flights a week comming on 25 November.

In the lead up to Christmas inbound and outbound passengers through Gold Coast Airport may well be greeted by the airport’s favourite member of staff – Santa Claus.
Santa has been a seasonal employee at the airport since 2004, taking up residence in the terminal to spread some Christmas cheer to the travelling public.
