Gold Coast Airport staff member enters Archibald prize
Gold Coast Airport is celebrating the achievements of staff member Raymond Cheney, who has entered a portrait into the upcoming Archibald Prize.
The Archibald is an annual exhibition and is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious art prizes. The award is awarded to the best portrait painting, preferably of a man or a woman distinguished in art, letters, science or politics.
Mr Cheney, a contemporary realist artist, is entering the Archibald for the second time with an oil on canvas portrait of 500cc motorcycle racing champion, Mick Doohan, titled Surpasser.
