NoiseEnvironment Community Concerns: Firstly, Gold Coast Airport initiated the Airport Noise Abatement Consultative Committee (ANACC).
Secondly, as an outcome of the ANACC meetings, Gold Coast Airport implemented a "Fly Neighbourly" policy on the airport which the majority of aircraft operating companies have voluntarily signed. Thirdly, Gold Coast Airport operates under a curfew, so that aircraft over 5700kg (most jet passenger aircraft) are restricted between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am. There are occasional concessions made to the curfew due to safety considerations or unusual operating conditions, but these are minimal and are recorded for review at the ANACC meetings. Fourthly, any concerns regarding noise at the airport can be raised with AERU on 1800 802 584. Noise and flight Path Monitoring System (NFPMS) Airservices Australia has established a Noise and Flight Path Monitoring System (NFPMS) at Australia's major airports. Information relating to noise and flight path data collected from the monitoring of aircraft operations at Gold Coast Airport can be accessed via the Airservices Australia Link: www.airservicesaustralia.com.au/reports/nfpms/nfpmscoolie.asp |
