Duty Free Allowances
Travellers are allowed to bring into Australia the following goods duty/tax free. Goods purchased overseas or purchased duty/tax free before leaving Australia are included when determining your duty free allowance.
2.25 litres of alcohol and 25 cigarettes or 25 grams of cigars or tobacco products for travellers over the age of 18.
AUD900 worth of personal goods for travellers over 18 years or AUD450 for travellers under 18 years.

Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS)
You can claim a refund of the goods and services tax (GST) and wine equalisation tax (WET) that you pay on goods you buy in Australia. The refund only applies to goods you take with you as hand luggage or wear on to the aircraft.
