Checking In

Checking In image

We recommend passengers arrive at Gold Coast Airport at least one hour before domestic flights and two hours for international flights departures.

All international and domestic flights operate out of Terminal 1 (T1) at Gold Coast Airport, View the terminal map.

Check in for all flights is on the northern side of T1. After checking in for your flight, please proceed through the central security screening area. Once you have passed this security area you will find extensive food and retail. Everyone is welcome through the security area, so if you have a friend or loved one meeting you at the airport or sending you off, why not enjoy a beverage and a meal together in the departure lounge.

Your domestic flight will depart at the gates in the departure lounge. Please check the Flight Information Display Screens for updated information regarding your flight.

If you’re travelling international, after enjoying a browse through the shops and possibly a farewell drink, it is time to head through international security and continue on through Customs. Please ensure you allow sufficient time for this before your flight.

When checking in for international departures you are required to have the following documents:
• Passport
• Departing passenger card
• Travel documents, such as tickets or booking reference number.

Once you have passed Customs and Border Protection you can enjoy some last minute shopping in the Duty Free Store, café and newsagency.

Re-Checking in for another flight?

Upon arrival at Gold Coast Airport, please collect your luggage and clear Customs and Border Protection (if arriving internationally) prior to your next flight. Once you have all your items, proceed to the check in area in T1 to check in for your next flight. Once you have checked in for your next flight, head through security and treat yourself to some shopping at one of the fantastic retail outlets or enjoy a meal whilst waiting for your next flight. If you are travelling internationally, please make sure you leave enough time to clear the international security point, in the departure lounge.

If you have significant time in between flights, why not use utilise the lockers near the short term parking lot to store your luggage and either walk to Kirra Beach for a swim or head into nearby Coolangatta (three minutes by Taxi or Surfside Bus) and enjoy the local alfresco restaurants, cafes and beaches.
