Safety and Security
Gold Coast Airport Pty Ltd, as the owner operator of Gold Coast Airport, is responsible for the testing of procedures for dealing with possible emergencies on or near Gold Coast Airport that may affect the airport's operations.
The Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) provides a formal record of the agreements reached between those agencies expected to respond to an emergency at Gold Coast Airport. The AEP is given legal effect under Queensland and New South Wales legislation, but also serves to confirm Gold Coast Airport's compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Authorities (CASA) requirements.
The aim of the AEP is to provide a timely and coordinated response for rescue and recovery from an emergency on or in the vicinity of the airport.
